Ratings Explained

RESTAURANTS

In regards to restaurants we look at a variety of criteria. We grade each on a 0-4 scale (4 being the best), tally the score on each for an overall rating. The overall rating is then used to gauge their placement on the respective page.

  • Customer Service: Did the waiter/waitress greet you right away? Did they offer a high chair or booster seat? Were they well versed and attentive?
  • Atmosphere: Is it child appropriate? Is it safe, clean and smoke free? Are the other patrons respectful? Did they have proper seating options? And were they readily available?
  • Cost: Affordable? Inexpensive? Overpriced?
  • Kid Specific Options: Did they have a kids menu or did they offer options that are kid friendly?
  • Allergy/Nutrition/Restriction Information: Most corporate restaurants are going to have details on food allergies and nutritional details on their web site, but the one-off places are not going to have this. However, a quick glance over the menu should reveal vegetarian items. A knowledgeable staff should be able to readily offer options that will suit your  needs.
  • Quality of the Food: Was it any good?
FAMILY OUTINGS
For family activities these are treated similarly with the obvious omissions.
  • Customer Service: Were they friendly and helpful? Were they well versed and attentive?
